If you have a Health condition/s, Josephine can offer you appropriate health advice whilst having your massage such as dietary and lifestyle advice, this is thus optional.This form of consultation is very beneficial as you are calm and in a better state of mind. This is inclusive of the fee and not an extra cost. Josephine is able to prescribe health practitioner only, herbal and nutritional medicines that are reputable, high quality and have stringent standards, if required.

Holistic health Care with the massage aids in muscular pain and tension via the use of special herbal lotions and oils, patches, magnesium sprays and prescribed herbal/nutritional medicines.  Other conditions holistic health care nursing aids in are Stress and Anxiety, Depression, Diabetes/Hyperglycemia, Hypertension, Cardiovascular and Digestive Health etc.


As Josephine is a registered Nurse, Naturopath and Massage Therapist. She is able to utilise adjunctive benefits with in the massage to reduce pain and muscular tension. These are special herbal lotions and oils, patches, magnesium oil/sprays etc. She can also make and prescribe herbal mixtures and other natural medicines. She also advises for after treatment care and how best to continue the benefits.

Hot stones penetrate heat right into the tissue thereby reducing pain, stiffness and tension; combine this with massaging and you will get the ultimate therapeutic massage. It helps with a remedial and Deep tissue massage, as the muscles relax further and quickly from the heat. I am able to massage more deeply and get better, quicker results with reducing your pain and stiffness. If used for relaxation and Swedish, the fluent gentle strokes with the hot stones is very calming and soothing, the body is more inclined to relax with the warmth.

Cold Stones dispel the heat thereby reducing pain and inflammation, for any arthritic areas, recovering injuries, varicose and spider veins. It also helps with remedial and deep tissue massage, after an area has been massaged vigorously and deeply; this ensures the area will be less sore post massage. With relaxation and Swedish massage, it balances the body from the previous heat from the hot stones and on very hot days, cool and wet feel from the cold stones is very soothing.

Swedish massage is relaxing, invigorating and feels good. It includes techniques like long strokes, kneading, friction, vibration and shaking motions that apply pressure between muscles and bones, it improves the flow of blood returning to the heart. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Other benefits include shortening recovery time from muscular strain, increased circulation and a soothing effect on the nervous system. It reduces stress emotionally and physically therefore should be used in stress management.


Remedial Massage Technique
It uses several specialised techniques to locate and repair damage and to support and speed up the body’s own repair mechanisms. The massage is applied directly to the skin using a lubricating medium, usually oil, which ensures that the muscles associated with the disorder and mobilisation of the joint is deeply penetrated. Passive stretching moves are also used.

Benefits of Remedial Massage

Contrary to its name, sports massage is not only utilised by professional sportspeople or people that exercise heavily. It is of benefit to anyone that exercises, even if it is only mild exercise such as regular walking.

Sports massage is designed to prevent and relieve injuries and conditions that are associated with exercise. It can often be quite strenuous and is meant to relieve and reduce the stress and tension that can build up within the body’s soft tissues while exercising. It can be carried out before, during, or after playing sport or exercising and uses techniques that are designed to increase endurance and performance, to minimise the chances of injury and, if there is an injury, to reduce the recovery time.

hot and cold stones

Hot Stones are volcanic stones from Mt Etna in Sicily, Italy. They retain heat very well and are only applied on the body with a comfortable warm temperature and not actually hot. Heat helps circulation and relaxation of the muscular tissues. The Cold stones are marble stones from Italy, they retain cold very well and only applied to certain areas such as legs for a limited time. The cold helps inflammation and cardiovascular health.
